News: Drew Fitchette Announces Debut | Premieres 1st Single "Bill"

FH-057 Drew Fitchette Announce.jpg

We are incredibly thrilled to announce that we will be releasing the debut album from Drew Fitchette this November!

Drew Fitchette is a guitar player based in the Pacific Northwest. As a founding member of Rooftops and Detlef he has always focused on melodic composition bridging complexity with accessibility. Now Fitchette is composing music for solo guitar, drawing inspiration from primitive guitar, classical composition, and math rock. Fitchette has always been fascinated by familiarity and intrigue when it comes to music, and hopes to push his composition to the margins of both.

None, Too Many is a collection of songs composed over the last year informed by various personal and public events. Recorded over two days in Anacortes Washington with help from friends, the hope was to capture a sense of place, time, and those involved.

Various Small Flames describes the first single "Bill" as "much like the forests of the Pacific Northwest themselves, so old and familiar that they conjure a certain nostalgia even in outsiders, yet still possessing some persistent sense of mystery and intrigue, as though within their ancient midst might lie abounding newness."

News: Rainwater Announce New EP | Premiere 1st Single "Rolling Train"

Rainwater PressPic-2017_Band.JPG

The new Rainwater EP 'Place' is coming early November, but you can get lost in the first single "Rolling Train" today via GoldFlakePaint.

"The whole thing is wonderfully immersive, however, taking on the form of the rolling train it takes it name from, recalling moments of quiet introspection, face pressed to glass, shapes and landscapes appearing and disappearing, the quietly piercing melancholy of travel and all that it brings." - Tom Johnson, GoldFlakePaint.

News: Sunglow 'Great Time of Day' Out 8/25

Great Time of Day, Sunglow’s 3rd full-length album and most recent release since 2014’s Nothing Doing, is out this Friday 8/25 on Furious Hooves.

After flooding the Savannah streets, parks, and bars with his easily danceable synth-leads & experimental electronics, Daniel B. Lynch relocated to Chicago, IL for the next level of weirdo-pop evolution. Great Time of Day is lyric-laden and gushing with heavy synth leads that beckon you to dance while still pulling at Lynch’s roots of experimental sounds. You may find a new definition for electronic soundscapes in this Great Time of Day.

News: Horse Culture Release Debut 'House'

FH-050 Horse Culture Cover_1400.jpg

Horse Culture have gathered together many a ritual to release their debut full-length House on Furious Hooves this May. The proto-minimal goth rock act founded in Blacksburg, VA in 2015, comprised of Timothy Jacob Hawks, Nika McKagen, and Walter Porter. Through reiterated chords, musical phrases, and warmth in tonality, Horse Culture strives for an emotional resonance in this slow trudge toward death. Luckily for us, they lead an agnostic prayer for our collective suffering.

"House seems able to conjure its own atmospheric patterns, unseen forces called forth from homebrew hexes, leaving the listener dazed and amazed, like a torn page that’s been swirled around and left strewn on the ground." – Liam Doyle, Various Small Flames

You can join the ritual with Horse Culture's debut House on limited edition "smoky haze" Cassette Tape and digital download.

News: Baxter Roy Long Releases Instrumental Album 'Mouth Mirroring Ear'

Baxter Roy Long is keeping very busy this year, releasing yet another album, this time of 14 instrumental life-soundtracks. Mouth Mirroring Ear is out May 19, 2017 digitally on Furious Hooves. It was written and recorded October 2016-February 2017 in New York and North Carolina. We asked Baxter to describe this Mouth Mirroring Ear for us.

"I found an image of someone molding clay hands into the fragile unevenness of plastic sheathing. I took a photo of that photo and placed it between a projector mirror and my center. I bowed beneath it with microphone in hand, elbows acute and catching breath on the offbeat. I rotated the stereo out to a mono in and cut off the high end so the remaining warbles could slowly boil in the cauldron."

Furious Hooves was proud to release two albums simultaneously for Baxter Roy Long on February 10, 2017 both on limited edition Cassette Tape and digitally worldwide. Flower Essence Questionnaire was recorded Winter 2015-Spring 2016 across Lewiston, Maine; Elizabeth, Colorado; and Buffalo, New York. Palms on the Setting Stone was recorded in 2014 across Sequim & Seattle, Washington; and Buffalo, New York.

You can download Mouth Mirroring Ear on your preferred digital service or here.

Also, you can still grab a limited edition (x100) cassette tape of Flower Essence Questionnaire and Palms on the Setting Stone.
